Kargil Vijay Divas
26th July 2023 marked the beginning of the new academic year for Combrosia as it organized its first event which was a webinar on Kargil Vijay Diwas.
In the loving memory of all the Jawans who have fought for our country and to honor them, this webinar was conducted which hosted a true warrior of our soil, Captain Yashika Hatwal Tyagi, the first lady officer to be posted in snowbound areas of Leh during the Kargil War. The session was a truly inspiring and engaging one as Captain Yashika shared her story which lit a fire in the hearts of all the youths who attended it.
Millets Webinar
On 4th September 2023, Combrosia conducted a webinar on Millets, honoring our respected Prime Minister’s and UN’s decision to adopt 2023 as the Millet year.
Shri. Lata Ramaswamy, founder of Ammas Miracle Millets and Shri. Sharmila Oswal, founder of Gudmom and named as “the Millet Woman of India”, were the speakers for the webinar.
It was a very insightful and encouraging session where everyone got to know the hidden power and benefits of Millets, a crop which has been otherwise much neglected.
Inspiron 8.O
On 6th and 7th of October, 2023, Combrosia organised the 8th Edition of INSPIRON, its annual flagship event in which 9 speakers from various backgrounds and industries with a plethora of experience, expertise and knowledge interacted with and inspired the audience with their mesmerizing life-stories and life-lessons. The two day event marked yet another successful and impactful feat achieved by Combrosia.
Freshers 2023
On October 21, Combrosia: The Commerce Subject Society organized the official fresher’s welcome of the Commerce Department for the “Batch of 2026/27” named Aagaaz’23.
The event, having a Bollywood theme was held in the library lawn of the college and was attended by 75 students in total, including all the three batches and involved lots of fun activities like games, interactions, dance performances, awards and titles. But the highlight of the event was the stylish ramp walk by the freshers , a display of confidence that garnered applause from the audience.
Combrosia Cares
On December 13th, 2023, Combrosia, The Commerce Subject Society of Motilal Nehru College, University of Delhi, conducted its first activity under its new initiative named ‘Combrosia Cares’ by visiting a slum area near Delhi-Haat INA and fulfilled its social responsibility. The primary focus was on engaging with the slum children and their mothers through educational sessions and a donation drive.
The team imparted knowledge on financial literacy to women and engaged the children with activities such as coloring drawing books, learning and reciting poems, tables, and more. The goal was to empower and educate, contributing to their overall development. As a part of the initiative, essential supplies were distributed, including drawing books, stationery, and winter essentials such as socks. Additionally, the team distributed biscuits and chocolates, bringing joy and comfort to the community. The team’s experience was overwhelmingly positive, witnessing smiles on the faces of those we reached out to. The genuine connection formed during the visit resonated with our commitment to making a positive impact.
CommerceBuzz' 24
Commerce Buzz is the annual
flagship event hosted by Combrosia: The Commerce Subject Society at Motilal
Nehru College, University of Delhi. It’s packed with fun activities, learning,
and bonding. This event is the highlight for commerce students, attracting
participants from all over Delhi University. Throughout the event, attendees
were captivated by a diverse range of engaging activities. Held over two days
on April 18th and 19th, 2024, Commerce Buzz ’24 drew in large crowds with its
exciting prizes and dynamic atmosphere, making it a memorable experience for
all.
The event kicked off with the
inaugural ceremony, graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries including
the Principal, Head of the Commerce Department, Convenor of the Commerce
Society, and other faculty members of the commerce department. The ceremony
commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, setting a solemn yet
celebratory tone for the proceedings. The Principal delivered an inspiring
keynote address, setting the stage for the exciting events to follow.
Magazine Launch
On April 29th, 2023, Combrosia, the Commerce Subject Society of Motilal Nehru College, University of Delhi, held the launch event for the fourth edition of their annual magazine, “The Pensieve,” for the academic session 2022-23. The event highlighted the magazine’s significance as a platform for students to share insights on various topics, including academics, society, and the economy.
The ceremony included felicitations by Dr. Anju Kahal and Dr. Monika Gulati to Officiating Principal Prof (Dr). Yogesh Sharma, who inaugurated the magazine with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, adding prestige to the event.Overall, the magazine launch was a resounding success, celebrating student creativity and academic achievement while fostering a sense of community within the Commerce Department.
Nukkad Natak
On April 29th, 2023, Combrosia, the Commerce Subject Society of Motilal Nehru College, University of Delhi, performed thought-provoking Nukkad Natak on ‘Viksit Bharat’. The engaging 10-minute performance, a part of their SR initiative, was aimed to raise awareness about the various aspects of the Viksit Bharat policy.
The play explored how the policy impacts key areas like agriculture, small businesses, healthcare, education, and infrastructure development. It effectively communicated the benefits of the policy and upcoming schemes. The informative and entertaining presentation was well-received by students and faculty alike.
