Industrial Visit to Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd, Sonepath,
Haryana

On 5th March 2020, 30 Students of B.Com (H) 6th Semester, Section – B of Commerce Department of Motilal Nehru College, University of Delhi, under the guidance of Faculty Members (Dr. Sarika Sharma, Ms Divya Gupta, Ms Shalu Chauhan and Dr. Mohd. Shahid Ali) visited Yakult Danone India, which is the largest Probiotic Drink producer and distributer in India. They were greeted by Mr. Aadish and Mr. Ajay, HR of Yakult.

A factory tour was conducted by the Yakult team for the students and the faculty. The process was highly mechanized and the plant had a capacity of manufacturing 1 million bottles per day. The students could relate to management fundamentals like marketing, distribution, processing, labelling, quality testing, demand forecasting, production planning, packaging, procurement, supply chain, distribution and general management. They could make out that Yakult is more concerned about quality control rather than sales. The students were amused to know the role of a manager and how they handled the manufacturing process. The presentation given by Yakult was very motivating and encouraged students towards start-ups.
